Eau Claire Wastewater Treatment Plant Control System

City of Eau Claire Selects Energenecs For Instrumentation & Controls System In Their Wastewater Treatment Facility Expansion

The $2.3 million dollar control system consisted of Allen Bradley Redundant ControlLogix controllers communicating on a fi ber optic data highway. Multiple Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) computers are located in the various process buildings of the plant which run Wonderware InTouch graphical interface software to allow operators the ability to view the process from numerous strategic locations.

As a tremendous benefit to our customers, and as the supplier of the control system for our screens and grit processes, we provide fast and efficient local service for the headworks screen, pumps, and grit systems at reasonable cost.  This allows us to assist our wastewater treatment plant managers and operators in optimizing their screening and headworks operations without having to live with control system settings that were never changed from the date of startup potentially leading to improper headworks operation.

Additional project responsibility included all new motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs) and field instrumentation to include dissolved oxygen, ORP, phosphate analyzer, ammonia analyzer, magnetic flow meters, and numerous thermal dispersion mass flow meters.

The City of Eau Claire now benefits from having their entire wastewater treatment infrastructure available on a SCADA system at their fingertips including 25 remote pump stations and river level monitoring sites.
