Energenecs Welcomes Kevin LaPean, PE

Kevin recently joined the Energenecs Technical Sales team, we asked him about his previous experience in the wastewater industry.

Where did you work before joining Energenecs?

I worked for Aquarius Technologies, which is located in Saukville about two miles from Energenecs. Aquarius provides diffused aeration products and biological treatment systems that have been installed throughout the world. I was the Director of Engineering for seven years. Prior to that, I was a diffused aeration Project Engineer/Manager at Xylem – Sanitaire for eleven years.

Are you going to focus on aeration?

No, I will cover the whole range of equipment that Energenecs offers. I will happily offer my experience on any aeration opportunities that we receive but I do not intend to specialize in that one area.

What region will you be focusing on ?

I will be working on process equipment sales in Northeastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. There are a few product lines that we may be able to expand outside of our traditional territory, and I am interested in pursuing those opportunities as well.

Did you grow up in the area?

I grew up in Green Bay and went to college in the Upper Peninsula, so I have spent a lot of time traveling and working in the territory I will be covering. I think it will be a natural fit.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

I have more interests than I have time in which to pursue them all. I enjoy traveling with my family and spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and canoeing. I also cut firewood, work on projects in my woodshop, and attempt to improve the small patch of woods around our home. And because I don’t already have enough to do, we will start to build a cabin in the Upper Peninsula this year.

And do you have any favorite fishing spots?

Yes, but they are all hard to get to and infested with mosquitos! Really, any lonely spot on a lake, river or trout stream is enjoyable and rejuvenating.
