Energenecs Welcomes Erica Roller

Erica recently joined Energenecs as a Project Coordinator. We asked a few questions about her role on the team.

What does a Project Coordinator job entail?

In a nutshell, a Project Coordinator makes sure everyone is on track. Following up with clients, vendors and contractors (as well as internal staff) to make sure everyone is getting what they need. You have to make sure all are informed, to get the projects done.

How many projects you have going at once.

Currently I help mostly with manufacturer based projects, we have about 50 of those going on right now. When I work with these types of projects I help with communication between all the parties involved, for example if Huber is supplying a Q-Press, I stay in touch with Huber and the installing contractor to make sure everyone is on the same page and has the information they need.

I also assist the Energenecs Project Managers, who are currently running over 75 projects. I help the Managers assemble the submittals and operation and maintenance manuals. The submittals are a proposed design of the project. It provides literature and details for all the equipment and controls, and how it will be assembled. Energenecs submits this document to the client for them to review and comment prior to us releasing it into production.

So typical days are not typical!?

Right! [laughs], No two days are the same, but I do make follow up calls and emails daily to keep projects on track.

How did you get into this business?

I previously worked at Franklin Energy for 15 years, which is an energy conservation company, as a project coordinator then moved into an accounting role. Franklin worked with Focus on Energy from its inception back in 2001, so I am very familiar with Wisconsin’s main energy conservation program. I worked with the original founder of Energenecs, Don Voigt, through his involvement and calls to the Focus on Energy program, so I am familiar with Energenecs and their work.

What do you enjoy about working at Energenecs?

The people! Everyone has been very nice and have all been really great about helping me learn more about the water and wastewater industry. I also find water conservation interesting. I think there’s a lot going on in the industry right now, which is very important to the environment, and that aspect of it intrigues me.

What do you like to do for fun?

Going to the beach with my husband Allen and our three boys, Wyatt (20) and twins Carson and Mavrick (17). Before kids, my husband and I raced jet skis around the midwest and I raced in the World Finals in Lake Havasu, Arizona. All our boys ride jet skis, but we only do it for fun now. We try to go to the lake every weekend in the summer!
