Piering receives the MAC Award for WIAWWA
Doralee Piering, Office Coordinator for Energenecs, recently received the John Lechner (MAC) Award from the Wisconsin Section of the American Water Works Association (WIAWWA) at their 102nd Annual Conference. This award recognizes a section manufactures associates council (MAC) member who demonstrates exemplary service to the drinking water community and to AWWA’s mission and goals. The name of the award is derived from John Lechner, who was involved extensively in AWWA and was an advocate for the organization’s goals. During his career, he was instrumental in the transition from the Manufacturers Advisory Committee to the current Manufacturers/Associates Council as it is known today.
The WIAWWA’s mission is to ensure a safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible drinking water by providing education, timely information, and networking opportunities for our membership and the Wisconsin drinking water community at large. Members of WIAWWA dedicate themselves to serve a safe and sufficient supply of water to the drinking water community. The section offers a wide variety of educational opportunities through conferences, workshops, expositions, and legislative activities dealing with water industry issues. Through these activities, you have the opportunity to network and have fun with the finest water professionals in the industry. Our membership includes water utility employees, consultants, equipment providers, university staff and students, and regulators.
Doralee has been on the MAC (Manufacturers/Associates Council) committee for a long time as secretary for the Wisconsin Section of the American Water Works Association. The MAC committee plans the annual conference for the vendors and exhibitors. They decide on what time exhibits will run, what the exhibit hall layout should be, assign the vendors their booths, and plan MAC night at the WI conference.
The MAC committee members are extraordinary people. They volunteer a lot of time to make sure everything runs smoothly for the vendors at the conference. I have been blessed to work with such great people! –Doralee Piering, Office Coordinator at Energenecs
Congratulations Doralee on a job well done!
